[Gray. The opening shot is all dim gray and dusky, a boring shot of a concrete wall stained with black ash, before too-bright blue-white light knifes through the picture again, causing horrible screaming static for a brief moment. Everything whirls before the PCD lands, now pointed up at a derelict ceiling. From far off, noise can be heard: footsteps, crackling electricity, a low electric tinny and hard breathing. After a long minute the picture shakes again, lifting and turning around to show Raphael's face.

She looks, for lack of a better word, like shit. For an angel she looks exhausted, with faint circles under her eyes. Her skin has a papery quality that is strongly evocative of Lucifer. Face rot dots her hairline and a small spot on one side of her jaw, again very like what Lucifer suffers from. Despite coming out of a terrible event (for which she was a complete hermit, speaking to and seeing no one), there's obviously something else on her mind.]

The Archangel Michael is gone. You would do well to never speak his name again where we can hear it.

[ooc note: anyone going to find her will find her in the Wastes. Yes, even if they poof to her side immediately, angels. She can hustle.]

[Oh. Well then. Alright. Rachel purses her lips into a thin line.]

... Michael might come back. You can't predict this place -- he might've been trapped in a time loop or -- sent home temporarily, but people always come back.

You know that's wrong as well as I do.

Both Kurt and Jesse came back.

[She's insistent on this.]

Michael could, too. It isn't outside the realm of possibility. You shouldn't write it off entirely.

[A long moment passes.]

I learned a long time ago not to cling to endless, fruitless hope.

Faith is faith because you believe even when the times are bad.

If I showed one iota of the attitude you are displaying, you would lecture me.

[She's trying not to sound frustrated, but -- well, she is.]

[That's completely true. But completely not the point, Rachel, so why are you even bringing it up.]

It is different. [She looks like she wants to say something else, but then ices over again.]

It is different for every person who loses someone in this city, Raphael, but you aren't alone in feeling this way.

Many people view this place as a second opportunity for a reason.

[She knows everything Rachel is saying. Of course she knows, she's not stupid. But there can be no opportunity here, no solace, no chance for anything but ripping apart the world to escape. In a few short months in this city she became worse off than the whole burden of her existence in billions of years.

Raphael doesn't bother explaining any of that. There's no point.]
